LOGLINE
A grieving cop in a small town is chasing vengeance when the barrier between dreams and reality dissolves, and monstrous visions loom in the sky.
SYNOPSIS
While chasing a serial killer inspired by the god of sleep, a cop’s life is overturned by the death of her lover. Looming monsters and the need for revenge cloud the border between her nightmares and reality.

PRODUCTION NOTES
Filmed on location in Kenosha, Wisconsin, post-production work took place in the UK, with crew and creatives from the USA, Greece, Brazil, and the UK.
The film is the second feature for Greek director Konstantinos Koutsoliotas, his first film in English language and his first time directing in the USA.
THE FEAR OF LOOKING UP is the third feature film for London-based production company Melancholy Star, following two award-winning indie festival favorites THE BOOK OF BIRDIE and THE WINTER (O ΧΕΙΜΩΝΑΣ).
DIRECTOR’S NOTES
“THE FEAR OF LOOKING UP” is a study in reality, dreams and imagination told through the prism of a genre film: part police thriller, part fantasy and very much a weird tale. We follow a character who is put through a set of difficult and tragic circumstances, the result of which is a slow unravelling of the mind - in which they catch glimpses of the greater universe beyond their narrow worldview. Starting with the familiar cliche of the detective stalking a serial killer - we abandon that familiar world to plunge into a story of grief and madness with cosmic horror echoes.
DIRECTOR BIO
Award-winning director and cinematographer Konstantinos has over 15 years of experience as a VFX artist and supervisor. Based in London and now Montreal, he has worked on dozens of high-end visuals for projects like XMEN: DARK PHOENIX, ARTEMIS FOWL, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and 300, as well as commercials for clients Saatchi & Saatchi, Burberry, and Versace and more.

ACTOR BIOS
FRIDAY CHAMBERLAIN (JAMIE) An actress and writer with extensive gun experience, Friday has also worked in fashion and costumes. Known for THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE (2017) and SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (2017). THE FEAR OF LOOKING UP is Friday’s first time in a leading role.
SUZAN CROWLEY (ANNIE) An extremely experienced actress, award-winning voice talent and youth mentor, Suzan trained at The National Youth Theatre Great Britain and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her credits include London’s West End (UNDER THE GREENWOOD TREE, SUGAR DOLLIES, THE HEIDI CHRONICLES) and LA theatre (ISC’s DOCTOR FAUSTUS, LATC’s HAMLET, MACBETH and PHAEDRA, as well as a one-woman show. As well as being a TV series regular (LA LAW, THE KNOCK), Suzan appreared in THE DRAUGHTSMAN’S CONTRACT, LIZ & DICK, and THE DEVIL INSIDE.
WILLIAM KALINAK (FATHER) William is an experienced character actor for film, theatre and television. As a former criminal prosecutor/assistant state’s attorney, his area of expertise is also in criminal law and procedure, as well as a police trainer and firefighter. William served in Afghanistan as a justice advisor to the current Afghan government.
